just got knocked out of the bounty tournament at doyles and had a question about the hand.

I am in early position and get j-j..table play has been tight as the early maniacs have come and gone...blinds are 30-60 and I raise 4 x to make it 300.

I get one caller who seems to have been playing looser than the rest. he in the cutoff.

flop comes rainbow

6d 4h 9s

Pot is 690. I bet 240 to try and get a read. Immediately get re-raised all-in. I think about a sec...no flush...probably not a straight...maybe he has aa, kk, qq but didn't re-raise pre flop....doubtful they would have called with 6-6 or 9-9 to make a set

so I put him on A-K or A-q...sure enough I am right.....

only problem is they catch a queen on the turn and draw me out.

question is, did I play this right or should I have laid down the cards?

i'm not complaining about the beat, just want to know if I played it right.

thanks

That early in a tourny..30/60....i dont want to take a chance the guys got a set or 2 over cards that could draw out on me.....im too passive i know but id probably lay it down in a big tourny...call in a freeroll or small buy-in....

I was pretty sure he had a-k or a-q when I made the call. I wasn't worried about a set.

I checked the odds and and I am a 75% favorite at that point...i think if i have to do it again, I would call again...

I think I would have turn down the "all in" card... I find, in tourney at Doyles and Intertops, you're better off waiting for a hand you are in charge of, I find too many player, too often, allow the MAJOR decision rest on someone else, I personally want to be the one throwing around the power of the all-in.

"I am a 75% favorite "

i realize that but i lose as a 95% fav everyday...that early in a tourny i dont want to be all-in with that edge...if the guy is playing that risky ill get a shot later at his chips as a 75% fav with 1 card to go or none!.....not saying u were wrong, just my theory on mtt's ...which isn't taking the pokerworld by storm.....lol

doyles room software read the hole cards and decided to send you home.

you had to know either and ace or queen was coming ... it never fails .
